To keep pace with time and to leverage the right solution for harnessing the power of engineering and technology, BUIE has been established by Bankura Unnayani, a group of dedicated harmonious personalities by inculcating appropriate values and attitudes. Shri Jyoti Basu, the then honorable chief Minister, Government of West Bengal inaugurated this degree Engineering Institute on 19th September 1998. The activities of the institute have an endeavor to develop the analytical and integrative skills of the participants with cultural sensitivity and ethical responsibility. As an institution, Bankura Unnayani Institute of Engineering has, in its brief history, already left an indelible mark in the area of Engineering education in this state and has been consistently stretching itself with all its resources to attain the zenith of quality in the making of engineers for service of the nation.

Recognition:

The institute is recognized by the Deptt.of Higher Education, Govt.of W.B.and affiliated to the University of Technology and approved by AICTE,Govt.of India.The Institute offers four-year full time undergraduate programmes of study leading to Bachelor of Engineering Degree.

All the four courses that the institute offers are approved by All India Council of Technical Education(AICTE),a statutory body of Govt.of India.

With the setting up of West Bengal University of Technology(WBUT) all institutions imparting education at first degree level and above in Engineering/Technology are affiliated to WBUT from the academic year 2001-2002.The under graduate programme of study will lead to B.Tech degree in respective disciplines.

BUIE is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). The college is approved by All India Council of Technical Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and Directorate of Higher Education, government of West Bengal. All the courses offered conform to the latest requirement and Syllabus-cirricula is structured by WBUT.The management Believes in the best and is proactive towards grooming the students in acquiring latest technologies, managerial skills and transforming them to dynamic leaders of tomorrow.

LOCATION:

Bankura Unnayani Institute of Engineering is proudly located just outside Bankura town in an environment of learning complexes. The lush green calm pollution free surrounding is an ideal environment for the best teaching learning process. Durgapur, the Industrial Rurh of Burdwan is only about 60 km.away. Megia Thermal power Station of DVC and Industrial units of Barjora are some 30 km.away. The climate in general, is healthy.

Inplant training can be arranged in plants at Durgapur, Barjora, Asansol, Chittaranjan and also from other places outside Bankura. Thus studting at BUIE is clearly advantageous for future prospects. Industrial exposure is an essential requirement for career in higher professional organization. Bankura is well connected with the rest of the country by good roads (Nation High way No.60) and Railway lines to Asansol, Kharagpur, and Kolkata by South Estern Railways.

CAMPUS:

The sprawling college building of 23,500 square ft construction is located over 9.625 acres of land. The hostel campus is of 21-31 acres of land having at present two boy's hostels, one girl hostel, one block of teachers' apartment, canteen, and multipurpose building with Xerox-STD facilities and shopping centers, play fields etc.connected by black top excellent road.
